THE WEBCAM OPENS A DOOR TO LEARNING
TO LIVE IS TO LEARN
The famous naturalist, father of wildlife biology, and author Aldo Leopold wrote:
“We can be ethical only in relation to something we can see, feel, understand, or otherwise have faith in.”
SuzAnne Miller worked as a biometrician (mathematics as applied to biological problems) for over 35 years before founding both Dunrovin Ranch and the DaysAtDunrovin Virtual Village. She is passionate about the ability of science to enrich the lives of everyone and to help guide the course of humanity. Science is not simply a body of knowledge. Rather it is a rigorous and systematic way of solving problems and understanding the world. Everyone can participate in science and open the doors of understanding.
.
Dunrovin had no idea of the depth of learning that the web camera above the osprey nest would afford all of us who have watched our amazing osprey family over the years. Dunrovin is deeply indebted to both the University of Montana and the scientists of the Raptor View Research Institute for their support and guidance in that process. While the University of Montana is a public institution and receives financial support from the state of Montana, the Raptor View Research Institute is a nonprofit organization that is entirely dependent on donations and grants. Please join Dunrovin in supporting this dedicated group of scientists by making a donation to their organization.
Help Feather Raptor View Research Institute's Financial Nest
Let's feather the nest of Raptor view research while Harriet and her mate are building their nest for another breeding season at Dunrovin Ranch. Dunrovin's goal is to raise $100 a day for 30 days to be able to present Raptor view Research Institute with a $3000 check from Harriet Osprey.
All donations made on this page go directly to the Raptor View Research Institute. Help us feather their nest so they can continue to support the conservation of raptors of all species in western Montana
After making a donation, please download a donation feather and color/decorate it in any way you like, take a photo of it and email the photo along with your first name and the city/state/province/country where you live to dunrovin@gmail.com. We will make a collage of the colorful donation feathers as a visual display of the support Harriet’s fans have given to Raptor View. We will also create a map indicating where all the donations came from. Let’s cover the world map with donation feathers!
